The cost of the suitable four-conductor cable is also high. The cost of the engine-end connector is not particularly great, but the cost of field-installable DeviceNET Micro-C connectors is unusually high. After considering the total costs involved in acquiring all the necessary components to make the cable, the labor involved in assembly of the cable, and the present retail price of a pre-made cable, I decided against making the cables. I have even considered going into small scale production of such cables. I have bought all the parts at lowest possible cost from large electronic distributors I have located the exact connectors needed to make the cable I have deduced the proper wiring for the cable in question

Has anyone else ever tried this? Any idea what the connector on the Engine side is called? Is this a foolish idea, should I just buy the cable It might be a fun project to source the parts, find the schematic and make one myself.
